Description:
Taken on New Years Day on a walk exploring the area where the River Derwent meets with the Tyne. The shape of this plant caught my eye, growing on the banks of the Tyne or is it dead? The rest were straight, it was the only one like it and I have no idea what it is called.

This one caught my eye Catherine as it looks so much like a Bishop's staff - perhaps its called a Bishop Plant !!
Its quite a stiking shape with good exposure and framing - I like this one a lot.
