Description:
On the last day of our trek through the Lares region we visited a humble small single room cottage that housed a farmer and his family of seven.
His smallest daughter enjoyed my apple as our host happily showed us around.
Five minutes later she was running about playing and covered in llama poo.

Norman Crabtree 21:38 - 14 January 2010A beautiful portrait, the detail in her hands and face is stunning.
Mark Bradshaw 23:22 - 14 January 2010Trying to decide if the apple or the hat or the girl is the star. The three make it one of your best ever David.
Steve Smith 23:31 - 14 January 2010a simple and very effective portrait well composed , looks well against the background
Alan Brown 07:41 - 15 January 2010This works at both the aesthetic (shapes and colours) and the narrative levels . . . . . making it a particularly successful portrait. Did you also get the 'covered in llama poo shot?' I know some people who would turn their noses up a chance like that! :)
Longtallsally 07:54 - 15 January 2010What a gorgeous little girl, perfectly captured. It's the sparkle from her eyes that does it for me.

Agree with Mark, all the different elements are great but the whole is a fantastic portrait - really like the way you've frame it too - the grey lines at top and bottom run parallel to the brim of her hat, which pulls the whole thing together even more - love it
